Mythological creatures come to life. The bloodthirsty monsters are rebelling. The gods of Olympus are setting more challenges. "After a quiet school year, more problems are coming my way. It's the last day of school! Gym class turned into a dodgeball game with man-eating giants and Grover got in trouble. More bad news: The camp of the half-bloods is threatened with destruction. I'm going on an expedition with friends from which we may not all return alive. Are you in? "
Rick Riordan
He was born in San Antonio, Texas, USA. He taught high school English and history in California for a number of years. He would tell stories from Greek mythology to his son Haley, who asked him if he could invent something new with the same characters - and thus was born a five-volume series with the main character Percy Jackson, for which the author has won numerous literary awards. His other series draw on Egyptian or Norse mythology, for example. Riordan's books have been translated into more than forty languages.
