Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief
Half boy...half god. Altogether, Percy Jackson
My name is Percy Jackson.
Until now, I thought I was just an ordinary boy about to be expelled from school. But I've just found out that my father is a god from Olympus. My teacher has turned into a bloodthirsty monster and my friend is a Satyr. Everyone is after me and suspects me of stealing the master bolt, the weapon of the mighty god Zeus. I have to prove my innocence and find the stolen master bolt, along with the thief. Will you help me? But it's going to be dangerous, so don't say I didn't warn you!
Rick Riordan
Born in San Antonio, Texas, USA. For many years, he taught English and history at a secondary school in California. He would tell his son, Haley, stories from Greek mythology, who then asked him if he could invent something new with the same characters – and thus the five-part series starring Percy Jackson was born, for which the author won numerous literary awards. His other series draw on Egyptian and Norse mythology, for example. Riordan's books have been translated into more than forty languages.
