Perfume Genius: No Shape Ltd Clr

LP Record If Perfume Genius's first albums felt like they were sung at a piano in complete darkness, Mike Hadreas ventures into new musical territory with "No Shape". Or should we say fields? Because although the thirteen opulently wild songs from the American artist occupy their own niche, they have been cultivated by various influences: church music, gothic radio formats, art pop, krautrock, queer soul, the sound of RCA Studio B, rhythm and blues, and life itself! Thanks to his collaboration with Blake Mills, who produced the last Alabama Shakes album and performs with John Legend, Hadreas has found a new comfort zone and taken his artistic expression to the next level of evolution. Right where the individual parts become a whole.
