Philosophy of Logic
This book is a systematic treatise on the problems of the philosophy of logic and the approaches to their solutions. However, it is written a little differently from how books on the philosophy of logic are usually written around the world. On the one hand, it seeks to show that the problems logic and the philosophy of logic grapple with often originated long before the advent of modern logic. On the other hand, it also aims to demonstrate that there is a specific kind of philosophical problem concerning logic that only truly emerged with the birth of modern logic, and which has not yet received due attention. Therefore, in addition to traditional topics (such as the problem of logical paradoxes, the definition of logical form, the logical capture of 'universals', etc.), the work also deals with purely modern problems of logic (connected, for example, with the axiomatisation of logical calculi and the creation of their set-theoretical models, with the question of their completeness and incompleteness, or with the burgeoning plurality of logical systems). The book is written to be comprehensible not only to a narrow circle of experts; it is therefore suitable for students of various fields who come into contact with logic, as well as for those interested in logic from the wider professional public.
