Pink Floyd: Endless River (2x LP) - LP

The album The Endless River will be released on November 10. Contains music recorded but not released on The Division Bell in 1994.

Pink Floyd has unveiled the details and cover of the “new“ album The Endless River, which will be released under the Columbia label on November 10. It will consist mainly of instrumental tracks recorded by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright in 1993, when Pink Floyd' s last regular album, The Division Bell, was released, twenty years after its release.

“Infinite River“ also includes music composed and recorded by multi-instrumentalist and especially keyboardist Richard Wright, who died at the age of 65 in 2008. There is also a recording with Wright from the rehearsal in 1969.

“Endless River is a tribute to Rick Wright, whose keyboards have always been at the heart of Pink Floyd' s sound. With one exception, Endless River is an instrumental album. The only Louder Than Words song was lyrics by Polly Samson. The album' s producers are David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Youth and Andy Jackson, “said Pink Floyd on their website.

“We listened to more than twenty hours of music that the three of us recorded at the time and chose the passages we would like to work on and put them on a new album,“ Gilmour said. “Over the last year, we' ve added new episodes, re-recorded others, and generally used the latest studio technology to make Pink Floyd' s album for the 21st century. Since Rick is no longer here and we don' t have a chance to start again, it' s right that these recordings will be part of our repertoire. "

Already at the beginning of the year, Pink Floyd released the Boxset The Division Bell for the twentieth anniversary. It contains a recording remastered by the band' s longtime collaborators James Guthrie and Joel Plant.

The original recording was made on David Gilmour' s houseboat and in the Britannia Row studio in London. Most of the lyrics were written by Gilmour' s partner Polly Samson.

There was also Roger Waters in Pink Floyd, who left the band after a rift in 1985. The rest of Pink Floyd stopped playing in 1994 after a world tour for The Division Bell.

The four of them met in London in 2005 for a concert as part of the charity Live 8. Occasionally they performed at solo concerts of their colleagues - for example, Wright played on Gilmour' s world tour in the 1990s and Mason and Gilmour performed in 2011 at the London Waters concert The Wall tour. However, everyone rejected speculations that they could perform together again.

Waters did not participate in The Endless River and the band did not announce plans to tour in support of the new album.
