Plíhal Karel: Nebe Počká (2004) - CD

For three years he searched for the archives and witnesses of Kainar' s free interwar period (he visited over sixty of them. ), he searched for his own for the next three years, the current path to known and unknown swing melodies, he learned a whole new guitar style, recorded, to then erase everything and start again.

And so, AFTER SIX YEARS OF PREPARATION AND SHOOTING, this original, pure, musically poetic collection was created.

In essence, Karel chose a similar approach to the legacy of the past as the acclaimed Čechomor on the album Proměny, although actually completely different. Simply said: while Čechomor created symphonies from fragile folk songs, Karel Plíhal, on the other hand, “cleaned“ the “decorated“ arrangement of swing songs into a delicate form only for guitar and voice. The strength and depth of Kainar' s song poetry could excel even more. However, both of these “methods“ have the same result: the past is the present.

The album “Heaven Will Wait“ is therefore not just a matter of witness, but it is also close to listeners who may not even know who Josef Kainar was. One of the surprises of the album is the vocal performance of the guest Zuzana Navarová in five songs, among others. in the legendary Black Car, known mainly from the performance of Eva Olmerová.
