Poláková, Barbora: Barbora Poláková - CD

The popular actress and singer, who scored on the Internet and on the Czech radio airwaves with the pilot single Nafrněná, prepared a total of ten songs for her nameless authorial debut.

Songs that are very personal, but they do not lack a strong message, clever insight or a pinch of irony, which are typical for Poláková in her work in general. The decision to issue them in Barbora - as she herself admits - took about two years. The compositions themselves were created over the last four years.

Although the single Nafrněná, but also the “Valentine' s“ song Cow, which is also missing from the album, seduce to believe that the whole album could be carried on a similar wave, this is not the case. For some, perhaps surprisingly, most of the other songs are in a somewhat more melancholic spirit. However, the essential, ie the musical quality and intensity of the experience, remains unchanged.

Apart from the author herself, her collaborators, led by the producer of the album, Jan P., also play a significant role in this. Muchow and pianist David Hlaváč, who also contributed to the recording. However, we cannot forget the others, ie singer Katka Sedláková, bassist Přemek Matějovice and drummer David Bartošek, who together form a “complete party with which, with the exception of the Cow, the record was created“.

In addition to the music itself, in the case of Barbora' s debut, its visual appearance is also important. But it is not just an engaging cover by Pavel Berkovič, who is the author of photographs and design and was behind the camera during the creation of the video clip Nafrněná.

PHYSICAL CD SU 6300-2 IS A LIMITED EDITION WITH AN INSERTED LAMP.

(The lamp of designer Petr Bakoš is made of special thin fabric paper. In addition, Barbora has handwritten lyrics on the songs, and if the lamp lights up, the lyrics will shine through. With the purchase of a CD, its owner gets an interesting bonus, something special and functional, ie a certain design piece. )
