Political communication
Without communication there is no society, without quality political communication there is no democratic society
The media is well dreamed of as a space for public debate or at least as an information service provider for informed choices by an informed citizen. But in reality, today's media is accused of manipulation, bias, smears, propaganda campaigns and entertainment for passive, disoriented consumers. It is difficult to find anyone who is satisfied with the role of the media in the current political decision-making processes - and it is equally difficult to find a solution to this situation.
This monograph is the first Czech introduction to the field of political communication. It clearly and comprehensibly presents and interprets its basic theories and concepts, looks back at its history, enumerates the most typical manifestations of contemporary political communication, and presents perspectives for the future. We hope it will become a guide for students, a theoretical introduction for academics and a practical handbook - or at least a po.
