Space explorers suddenly pick up a signal that appears to have come from the outer edge of the solar system. Bioinformatician Theo Cray gets involved in the research of this remarkable phenomenon against his will, along with former magician and now FBI agent Jessica Blackwood. The central figure in the effort to solve the cosmic mystery is billionaire Thomas T. Theismann, who has devoted his life to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence in his desire to find out if we are really alone in the universe. The deeper Theo and Jessica delve into Theismann's past, the more their fascination with the signal grows. What other dangers does the search hold? He discovers the uncharted waters Theo and Jessica are willing to enter...
