Post-Europe
Philosophy has traditionally been considered inherently European, forming the very core of the Western intellectual tradition. However, with Europe's loss of its central position as a political and intellectual power, philosophy is forced to find new starting points for itself that will enable it to reflect on the human condition in the 21st century. Yuk Hui, a professor of philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam, shows that in this situation, there is no choice but to step outside the ideological opposition between East and West and to embrace an intellectual homelessness that will not be based on neutralising differences, but will instead become an opportunity for the individuation of thought.
