The book will show everything that scares and attracts trans women the most.
" Opposite Dante' s statue, trans women climb out of hell every night to bring spring back to the world. " At night, a group of trans prostitutes meet in Sarmiento Park, the green heart of Cordoba, Argentina. Hidden in the urban wilderness, they attract clients with their charm, share their life stories and alcohol-fueled adventures, and above all, protect themselves from the violence that lurks at every turn in their sisterhood. Monsters is a brutal yet tender fairy tale full of strange creatures, a celebration of people who are forced to survive in the shadows but yearn for the light; A daring expedition into the depths of the author' s imagination. This book shows everything that is called What scares, but also attracts, " decent society" most about trannies: their defiant otherness, their unmistakable physicality, but also their vulnerability, poverty and humiliation. With the power of literary expression, for which she vouches with her own life, Camila Sosa Villada is reminiscent of Reinaldo Arenas, Marguerite Duras, and Carson McCullers.

They wrote about the book:
A literary sensation. Sosa Villada created a unique language as if plucked from dreams, fairy tales and adventure novels.
- Rolling Stone

A fantastic world, equally brutal and tender. Extremely colourful language. This literary debut confronts contemporary reflections on gender, sexuality, and love with the magical charm of fairy tales.
