Summer solstice

The shortest night of the year might be the last

The queen of Czech crime fiction, Michaela Klevisová, brings a thrilling detective case, this time investigated not by Josef Bergman, but by Detective Inspector Tereza Fabiánová. However, readers can look forward to more of his stories in the future.
Kamila and Filip find a new home in a remote South Bohemian village, where they want to live closer to nature. But the young couple's idyll is short-lived. An arsonist is on the loose in the area, and a murder occurs after the summer solstice celebration. Is the tragic death connected to a misfortune that happened many years ago in a place steeped in legends of mysterious rituals? Does the old cottage belonging to Kamila's relatives hold the answers to questions the local people are afraid to ask out loud? When Jindřichův Hradec investigator Tereza Fabiánová begins to unravel the tangled case, old grievances come to the surface.
