The world according to Kafka: search, mistakes, consequences
Kafka's novel The Trial may not be to everyone's taste - it has a reputation as a gloomy, difficult-to-penetrate book, which for a person in a hurry is shrouded in a cloak of question marks. Paradoxically, however, even in the rush there are enough questions that become more urgent in retrospect of the last days that are defined for man.
Did I fill my allotted time? Our volume is free from established myths. A perfectly contemporary and fresh translation by the excellent Hanus Karlach conveys the eternal, but each time different story of a young man in search of a new life. He (unlike those around him, whether in the office, in the bank, in the pension or on the street) can see the consequences of human actions, even if not crystal clear, which is why his path is lined with so many mistakes. Its limited time is filled with matter akin to that found in another novel, over which one's breath is taken away: in Camus's The Stranger - that could have been the name of Kafka's book. Have we gone astray, are we really following our path? Please consider for yourselves.
