Progress 2: The Star Tramp - LP

In November 2018, the band Progres 2 will celebrate fifty years since the founding of The Progress Organization—the direct predecessor of today's Progres 2. It will also mark 40 years since the 1978 premiere of their pioneering work, the first Czechoslovak audiovisual rock opera, Dialog s vesmírem (Dialogue with the Universe). The band recorded a new concept album with their long-established line-up: Pavel Váně, Roman Dragoun, Zdeněk Kluka, Miloš Morávek and Pavel Pelc. It was recorded at David Koller's studio, with help from many interesting guests. The lyrics, based on Jack London's 1915 novel The Star Rover, were written by M. Kudlička. The album contains 17 new songs, and the 2LP will feature a special archival bonus on the fourth side: the 1969 song Klíč k poznání (Key to Knowledge) and 3 songs from a 1970 concert in Šlapanice. The cover art was traditionally created for Progres by Václav Houf. Even after 50 years, Progres 2 is in full force, and the new album, Tulák po hvězdách (The Star Rover), only confirms it.
