Purple Hill - DVD

Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) is a very emancipated girl for her time, with a literary talent and an unpleasant childhood trauma, which she deals with by writing. The mysterious stranger, Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston), likes her lyrics, she likes him for a change. So much so that after her father's tragic death, she soon puts aside her grief and marries him. Through marriage, she becomes co-owner of the Purple Hill estate, dominated by a stately but dilapidated Victorian house, whose leaky roof lets rain, snow and leaves fall into the entrance hall.
Edith certainly doesn't feel at home within its gloomy walls. Moreover, Edith soon begins to discover that her husband is not what he seemed. His mysterious and not always pleasant past begins to surface.
