Radůza: Marathon, The Runner' s Story - CD

This time, the leading Czech singer-songwriter has combined several of her skills and written a book of short stories forming a coherent storyline, each of them accompanied by a song. A kind of book musical was created, which Radůza herself calls a "chansonetto". The author describes the story of a man who, in various forms, goes through battles across the centuries.

The narrative begins with the Battle of Marathon and ends at the turn of 1945/46 in the Sudetenland, where its humanistic and anti-war message reaches its peak. The project comes at the time of the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, as a reminder of how painful losses are no matter which side of the battle line they are on.

On the album Radůza accompanies herself mainly by herself with occasional accompaniment of her concert band consisting of Josef Stepanek - guitars, David Landstof - drums, Jan Cidlinsky - violin, bass and guests like Justin Lavash, Domažlice bagpipe music, Kamil Henry, Monika Žáková and others.

The book and the album are a reminder of how painful war losses are, no matter whose side they are on.
