Railway modelling

Model railways are a specific category of hobby that has a long tradition in this country, and many past and present modellers can boast remarkable results. In the introduction, the author of the book discusses the history of model railways, and then goes on to discuss historical and contemporary model-building techniques, including instructional examples – from the simpler ones (made of paper, purchased finished parts, or styrene semi-finished products) to the more complex (made of brass sheet or 3D printing). In addition, it describes the individual technological processes (making metal and plastic castings, etching parts, soldering) and surface treatments (puttying, sanding, painting, patinating). Building your own model train might not be as complicated as it first seems.
