Rauš: Šrámy - CD

The band Rauš from Valašské Meziříčí has been playing since 1998 in the line-up: guitar, drums, bass guitar, + vocals. Their music sounds in shades of explosiveness, pain and melancholic dreaminess, bringing inventive melodies mixing with the rawness of club rockers. You can also notice interesting details in their music.
The band was founded by Radek Koutný (guitar, vocals), who recorded six albums with the Czech cult band Mňága & during the previous seven years. Žďorp. Jiří Petřek completes it on bass guitar and singing. The third support is John Janečka, a singing drummer.
During his existence, Rauš released two maxi singles (Black and White World, 1999; We sail through space, 2002) and appeared on the compilation Valmez 99. After four years of active concerts, they have, among other things. a joint tour with the Austrian Tres Hombres, the Czech cult band Mňága and Žďorp, a lot of interesting contacts abroad and, last but not least, the Irish The Frames.
The year 2003 dedicated Rauš to the realization of Šráma' s debut album. The uniqueness of this event is the cooperation with the concepts of the world music scene. Glen Hansard devoted time to producing the album. The sound director of the recording was lent to his experience by the American sound engineer and musician Rob Bochnik, a direct collaborator of Steve Albini in Electrical Audio Chicago (the album In Utero by Nirvana). In recent years, Rob Bochnik has worked on the sound of groups such as Neurosis, Shellac, Smog, Superchunk and Zwan. Both musicians also appear in individual compositions by Rauš. On Šráma' s album, Rauš screams through all layers of guitar rock. Next to the intimate version of the song “Hotel Savoy“ by Oldřich Janota, there is the honest punk “I am, you are“ followed by the guitar explosion “Being yourself“, while singing “My once nice“ jumps over reality
