Ray Charles: The Platinum Collection CLR

LP Record The term "legend" is thrown around far too loosely these days, with music being perhaps the worst offender. But in Ray Charles, modern music has someone it can proudly call one of culture's true geniuses. Over a career spanning almost sixty years, Charles forged his own path, blending gospel and R&B to create soul music. He later found success in country and rock 'n' roll, proving his versatility and talent. Charles broke down not just musical barriers but racial ones too, living and performing during a difficult time for black men and women in America. This three-part collection features some of Ray Charles's most popular, influential, and ground-breaking recordings.
