Ready cash

My dad and I may have grown apart long ago, but since I'm his only living relative, it's no surprise when I inherit his enormous ranch after his death. What is a surprise, however, is the condition he put in his will. To access the inheritance, I have to live on the ranch for a year and actively manage it.

I haven't set foot in this Texan backwater since my parents divorced. I'm a city girl now, and it never would have crossed my mind that I'd have to come back here one day. But I need the money to keep my company afloat, so I have no choice but to grit my teeth and somehow endure it.

However, there's another obstacle standing in the way of my dream: the grumpy foreman, Cash Rivers. I don't care how good he looks in those tight jeans and cowboy hat. He has a filthy mouth, a mood that's permanently below freezing, and he's doing everything he can to get rid of me. I'd love to fire him, but unfortunately, I need him to teach me how to actually run this damn ranch.

Our forced collaboration leads to late-night talks under the stars and dances at the local honky-tonk, and to my astonishment, I'm starting to realise I've completely fallen in love with ranch life. And maybe with one handsome cowboy, too…

Nevertheless, my stay in the countryside is only temporary, and besides, you know what they say about cowboys: they can tame wild horses, but no one can tame their wild hearts.
