DVD Film - It was Julien who chose the colour of the uniform of his time... A film classic in a new digitized and remastered version. The son of a simple country carpenter, Julien Sorel longs to achieve a distinguished position so that he does not have to follow in his father's footsteps. He suppresses sympathy for Napoleon because it would hinder his career in the new political climate. Although he despises religion, he opts for the black priestly cassock, as it is a prerequisite for social ascent. As a hypocrite, he changes his feelings and opinions as the situation and his self-interest demand.
