Rezek Petr: Along the Roads 2020 - CD

The original recordings of Petr Rezek's album Podél cest were made in 1976, but they did not pass the communist censorship and were released after almost 45 years.
The melodies of the singer-songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player float on the verbal images of the in many ways exceptional lyricists Eduard Pergner (1935 - 2001), Pavel Vrba (1938 - 2011) and Pavel Žák (1941), while the musical arrangement was provided by the inventive and innovative Otakar Petřina (1949 - 2015).

Panton did release an eleven-song vinyl album forty-five years ago, but the songs never actually reached radio listeners and television viewers because the so-called lyrics committees, which oversaw the ideological "safety" of the lyrics, did nothing more than classic censorship - and did not approve the songs for broadcast.

"I really appreciate the collaborators who contributed to the original album," says Petra Rezek about the reincarnation of his former songs, "so I decided to revive this project. I have preserved the original arrangements by Ota Petrina, of course with the necessary modifications and a sound that corresponds to today's times. And I'm convinced that I sang my vintage songs with a different vibe than back then. "
