Rhythm of War

After forming a coalition of human kingdoms against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year in a lengthy and brutal war with no victor. Every strategic move the allies make is jeopardised by the threat of Taravangian’s betrayal. While the discoveries of Navani Kholin's research team are slowly beginning to change the nature of the war, the enemy is preparing for a large-scale and dangerous operation. The ensuing arms race challenges the very core of the Radiant ideals and begins to reveal the secrets of the ancient tower that was once the centre of their power. Meanwhile, Kaladin Stormblessed grapples with his changing role within the Knights Radiant, and the Windrunners face a new problem: as new and insidious Radiants awaken and join the war, the spren are refusing the bonds with humans that would strengthen the ranks of the Knights Radiant. Adolin and Shallan therefore set out as Radiant emissaries to the honorspren stronghold in Shadesmar, and the future existence of humanity largely depends on the outcome of their diplomatic negotiations.
