Rio - DVD

The film Rio tells the story of a rare macaw named Blu, who lives in a small town with his owner, Linda, with whom he is inseparable. Years ago, Linda rescued him from smugglers who had caught him as a baby parrot in the middle of the Brazilian rainforest and taken him to snowy Minnesota.

Although Blu never learned to fly because of this, he has become so settled in the safety and comfort of Linda's home that he has no trouble making coffee, preparing breakfast, brushing his teeth, or acting as Linda's personal alarm clock. When one day Linda and Blu discover that Blu is not the last macaw of his kind in the world, as they had previously thought, they don't hesitate to set off on a journey to exotic Brazil to find Jewel, a female macaw living in the heart of Rio de Janeiro.

However, shortly after they meet, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of animal traffickers. With the help of the clever and street-smart Jewel and a flock of chatty city birds, they manage to escape, but their troubles are far from over. With the help of his new friends, can Blu find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the plans of the kidnappers who are hot on their heels, and return to his beloved owner, Linda?
