Robin Hood - Blu-ray

The British Isles in the 13th century were not an ideal place to live. The already poor country was also financing the ambitious crusades of its king, Richard. In the ranks of his armies, an unnamed archer named Robin (Russell Crowe) defended the questionable honour of the English crown. He becomes an eyewitness to the king's death during the siege of a French castle and, along with a few companions, decides to make his own way home to England as quickly as possible after years of wandering the world.

He finds himself in the county of Nottingham, ruled by an unscrupulous sheriff (Matthew Macfadyen). Few can stand up to him, one of the exceptions being Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett), who manages her father-in-law's (Max von Sydow) estate while her husband fights for the king. The situation worsens after Richard's death, when the weak King John ascends the throne, with his court advisor Gisborne (Mark Strong) secretly plotting a French invasion of the country.
But in this time of greatest need, the time for heroes arrives. Heroes like Robin. A man who will attempt to fill empty concepts like law, justice, and national pride with meaning.
