What's Whispering
Two gossips see a young man on a park bench and tell each other the young man's story. His mother Helena (J. Štěpničková) was in her youth a beautiful and vocally gifted student of the conservatory. Fellow composer Vilém Gregor (H. Haas) is platonically in love with her; Helena, however, likes the charming Martin (J. Budský), and when a situation brings them together at a graduation party, she stays with him overnight, but the next day Martin leaves for Paris in a hurry and doesn't give any news of himself. The night will not remain without consequences and Helena is saved in a desperate situation by William, who knows everything and offers to marry her. The family lives happily for eight years, but suddenly Martin appears unexpectedly.
Jarina's Professor
Jarča (Hana Vítová), a failing landowner's daughter, returns home for the holidays. She has no idea that her father has taken on a new coachman for the summer brigade, who saved his life by taming the stampeding horses (Gustav Nezval). The landowner (Theodor Pištěk) takes a liking to the young man and when he discovers that he is also educated, he entrusts him with Jarka's lessons and preparation for her German rehearsal. The girl initially treats the coachman with contempt, but later the handsome and hard-working young man wins her over. And she has no idea what surprises await her when she returns to school. Gustav Nezval shone in his very first film; He is well supported by the duo Plachta - Pešek and the cast is this time dominated by Bedřich Veverka as the arrogant son of a rich landowner.
