Ruml Ondřej: The Forgotten Story - CD
Ondřej Ruml's new album is unconventional. Songs by Zdeněk N. Bričkovský's most famous carol, "Christ the Lord is Born", interwoven with the accompanying words of Boleslav Polívka, are like pieces of a now somewhat forgotten story.
But the album tells not only about the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, but also about the mysterious birth of the radiant Light within us, which can light up in us every day - by small good deeds, by love for another person. People can be inspired by this story all year round, not just at Christmas. Imaginative arrangements of the songs were provided by composer David Rotter. In addition to the artists mentioned above, the recording also featured the children's choir Iuventus Gaude from Jablonec nad Nisou and musicians with whom Ondřej Ruml has collaborated on previous projects, whether it was an album of songs by Ježek, Voskovec and Werich or Horáček's Czech Calendar.
Singer, musician and actor Ondřej Ruml is one of the certainties of our music scene. With his album Ondřej Ruml Sings Ježek, Voskovec and Werich (2014), he captivated not only listeners, but also music critics, who appreciated his sensitive yet distinctive approach to the arrangements of songs that many consider untouchable.
On the following a cappella album Nahubu (2016) he fully confirmed his singing and expressive abilities, his musicality and rich expressive range. Zdeněk N. Bričkovský is a Czech film, television and theatre director, screenwriter, cinematographer and producer. On this album he presents himself as a composer and lyricist.
