The Czech Christmas Mass, also called Hey Master, is a church composition written in Czech, the author of which - music and text is Jakub Jan Ryba (1765 - 1815). It was written in 1796 and became to some extent a symbol of Czech Christmas. It consists of 9 parts and is arranged in the usual mass ordinaria. The text of the Czech Christmas Mass is conceived as a conversation of shepherds preparing to travel to Bethlehem.
