Charlotte's Web
One of the most famous children's books tells the story of a piglet named Wilbur, whose friends save him from the worst. Wilbur was born a runt – he is too small, and so they want to kill him. Luckily, a little girl named Fern prevents this, starts to take care of him, and takes him everywhere with her.
Later, Wilbur ends up on Mr Zuckerman's farm. He loves it in the barn and soon makes friends with the sheep, the goose, and a slightly grumpy rat named Templeton. The days pass pleasantly, and Fern often comes to visit him. But then Wilbur discovers that the farmer is fattening him up to slaughter him in the autumn.
Fortunately, at that very moment, he meets another clever friend – Charlotte the spider – and she promises him that she won't let anything happen to him. And so begins a magnificent story of true friendship, during which Charlotte outsmarts the farmer and everyone else and, thanks to her wisdom and courage, ultimately prevents Wilbur from being killed.
Read this moving tale that has captivated many generations of children all over the world. Immerse yourself in the world of animals and discover that you might have been wrong about many things, and that spiders are much more likeable than you thought…
