Schelinger Jiří, Čech František Ringo:. nám se líbí. - LP

Supraphon successfully reissues recordings by Jiří Schelinger and the band F. R. Bohemia. Next up. We like it., in the year of publication, 1979, a real surprise. The originally pop, even bubble-gum repertoire was replaced by almost hard rock (LP Hrrr na them, 1977), then a similarly luxurious group of musicians went the rock-folk way. Apart from the singer (and here also the majority author of the music plus guitarist) and the bandleader (also lyricist and percussionist) you can hear the rhythmic machine Jan Kavale (bass guitar)/ Jiri Starek (drums, arrangements) and the guitar of Stanislav Kubes. Considering the final sound of the album, the studio guests proved to be extremely beneficial. Acoustic guitarist Oskar Petr, guitarist and harmonica player Petr Kalandra, electric violinist Jan Hrubý and Jiří Tomek on congo helped create a more colourful sound, well suited to the welcome shift of texts, perpetuating graft slogans, but offering a more mature mood. It may have been too subtle for the fundamental rockers, but it was also in keeping with Schelinger's search for new means of expression. It eventually became his last complete album, with the planned Earthquake preserved only as fragments. As often, the original photo/graphic basis is not preserved, so the cover does not exactly copy the original. Compared to the original, however, the inner sleeve offers a textual look back and period photographs, making this reissue an interesting continuation of the welcome echoes of an important singer and an excellent band.
