Seal: Standards / White Vinyl (2017) - LP

Singing Seal, after a period of classical soul, he worked even deeper into history and decided to release an album of jazz standards. The songs I' ve Got You Under My Skin, I' m Beginning to See The Light or I Put A Spell on You and a few other classics will be released under the name Standards.

The British singer did not speculate much about his tenth studio record, he simply chose notorious hits, the greatest jazz and swing classics of all time. At his age, he already does what he enjoys, and it seemed like a good idea to honor the greatest legends (Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone).

In addition, he found musicians who actually collaborated with such names, so the album is supposed to have the “charm of old Hollywood“. Pianist Randy Waldman has performed with Sinatra and Paul Anka, bassist Chuck Berghofer has played with Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles, Greg Fields has drummed with Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder.

“This is an album I' ve always wanted to record. I grew up listening to music from the Rat Pack era, so recording these ageless tunes was my lifelong dream. It was a real honor for me to work with the same artists who performed with Frank Sinatra and my other favorite performers, in the same studios where these miracles were first created. I had some of the best days of my recording career, “said Seal.
