Seamstress - DVD

Seamstress - DVD
The protagonist of the story is Liza Bartová, who learns to be a seamstress in Yvette's salon. She wants to become a successful fashion designer and she really has the talent! The fashion designer François Lorrain, who came to Prague from as far away as Paris, is interested in her clothing designs. But much is different than it seems at first sight - as can be inferred from Haas's delightful French.
Frič's Švadlenka ranks among the best pre-war comedies, mainly thanks to the great acting performances and immortal lines by Hugo Haas. The biggest attraction is the charming Lída Baar, who was at the height of her fame at this time, and the costumes, which are now a valuable showcase of period fashion. Interestingly, Lída Baar's mother is played by her real mother, the forgotten actress of the same name, Ludmila Babková.
