Second Grass and R. Křesťan: Marzipan from Toledo - CD
In 2011 , Robert Křesťan and the band Second Grass recorded a new album, directly in the mecca of country music - in Nashville, USA, under the supervision of producer Steve Walsh .
The band decided to record in America because of the local atmosphere. “For the first time in our history, we also have a producer. Working with him exceeded our expectations. He managed to pull out the best that is in us, “ said Robert Christian.
The album was created in the Quad studio in Nashville. This is exactly what artists such as Neil Young, Joan Baez, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris chose for recording. Robert Kresťan and Luboš Malina also recorded Pavel Bobek' s album entitled I Don' t Look for More.
Nine sung songs and one instrumental are prepared for the album. Eight original compositions were complemented by two cover versions of Bob Dylan.
The band Second Grass was formed in 1991. Although it is often referred to as bluegrass, it has been mixing several styles since the beginning of its existence. Rather, Bluegrass refers to the previous engagement of several members of the group with the Brno Pilgrims. The main personalities of the Second Grass are singer, composer and lyricist Robert Křesťan together with banjo player Luboš Malina . Other members of the group are the best Czech Dobrist Luboš Novotný, guitarist Emil Formánek and drummer David Landštof .
