Secrets of the Treasure Cave

An adventure story in the Foglar tradition of friendship, suspense, good deeds and lessons

Twelve-year-old boys Jindra and Vojta have only known each other for a short time. While Vojta was born in Klárovo, Jindra moved here relatively recently. When a bunch of ninth-graders handed Jindra to him, Vojta did not hesitate for a second and rushed to the aid of his weaker friend. And so a great friendship was born.
One day, Jindra discovers a note in a library book addressed to an unknown Káj that a notebook with a description of the way to the treasure cave is hidden in the pillar of the Rudoarmeytsi Bridge. Vojta and Jindra decide to find the notebook. But where to find a bridge that has long since changed its name? The boys are advised by old Mr. Pavek and the adventurous journey to the river can begin. They are not deterred in their search even by an anonymous man who threatens the boys that something terrible will happen to them. The boys have no idea that the author of the letter is the mysterious Kaja, now old Mr Krejcir. They get the notebook and together with Mr. Krejčíř they search for the treasure in the cave. Vojt's cousin Tereza joins their group. Children imagine what they will buy with the treasure they are sure to find. But the treasure is not jewels and precious stones, but prehistoric cave paintings. The moment the expedition members realize the value of the discovery, a siren sounds. The blast of the rock destroys the entire cave and the explorers are glad to have escaped alive and well.
The Secret of the Treasure Cave is a thrilling story that teaches children that the most valuable treasures cannot be converted into money.
