Self-love and Kindred Souls

Man and woman – a short connection that has sparked since time immemorial. Although many of our instincts are the same as in prehistoric times, the modern age has built new obstacle courses that both sexes must navigate on their path to each other – sometimes with dignity, sometimes with humour, and occasionally with some embarrassment…
And so are the relationships of the heroes in our short story collection. The promise of love (whatever you imagine that word to mean) can appear in a work email, at the start of a long-distance run, or while putting a still-warm saxophone to bed… And it’s up to us whether we let this tempting vision slip away, or pursue it with our own bodies and imagination.
Josef “Pepson” Snětivý, dubbed the “Don Juan of Czech literature” in an earlier review, drew not only on his rich experiences but also on the aforementioned imagination when writing *Samolásek a soulásek*. He hopes that this very book will help your imagination take flight.
