Serial killers
Recent years have brought a wealth of new information and entire new fields of study, giving us surprising insights into human nature and our behaviour, including the propensity for serial murder. This applies from the perspective of both the bystander and the perpetrator. Historian and journalist Peter Vronsky seeks to understand how this behaviour fits into human history, stretching back to prehistoric times, which he believes is the key to understanding the essence of a serial killer's behaviour.
Every case of serial murder has its own time and place, its history and geography, leading to the fateful moment when the serial killer meets their victim. The trajectory of a murder unfolds in time and space, but it is bound by a hidden web of dark fantasies and bizarre sexual addictions, which in some cases develop as early as the age of five.
These fantasies and behavioural manifestations do not appear out of nowhere; they develop within a dense cultural, historical, and social ecology, like a fluid cultural dialogue of rage and madness.
