Setting up your home computer
The book Setting Up Your Home Computer - Practical and Illustrative is a unique publication, which brings a view of the home computer from both sides - the reader will learn, which programs (available for free) he needs and he gets instructions on how to use them, However, they will also learn the minimum necessary about the components of the computer, to know what he can expect from it and how he can influence the function of the components.
The book is intended primarily for beginners, but will provide useful information for intermediate users as well. Although the publication is technical, the information is conveyed in a comprehensible way. Individual chapters of the book are devoted to the acquisition of, basic setup and installation (and uninstallation) of programs, then to the individual components of the computer, especially the motherboard, of the processor, memories, graphics card, sound card, hard drives, but also the closet, sources, CD and DVD drives. The next chapters are also devoted to setting up the basic program in the computer, namely the BIOS. The last part of the book is dedicated to peripherals - speakers and headphones, printers, monitors, keyboards and mice, webcams, routers and TV tuners. At the very end, the reader will learn how to use complex diagnostics tools and how to get information about his computer using Windows so that he can test the computer and know what components are actually in the computer and how they suit his purposes. After reading the book, the reader will also
know which computer composition to choose for specific types of computer work - which computer is suitable for office work, which is suitable for home entertainment, etc.
The book is written by a renowned author of more than ten publications, who has been working in this field for more than fifteen years and has worked as a lecturer for several well-known Czech companies, such as. Computer Help, PC-DIR, Nicom, AIT Consult, and others.
