A DEAD BODY ON A HOUSEBOAT, A DANGEROUSLY BEAUTIFUL GIRL AND A CHILDLESS DETECTIVE ON THE RUN…

It’s a misty September morning in 1962, and childless detective Ota Fink—a lathe operator by day—wakes up in the cabin of an abandoned houseboat on the shore of Libeň Island, right next to the body of a brutally murdered man. He doesn’t know how he got there, but he’s sure of one thing: he’s going to be the prime suspect in this cold-blooded crime. And so he becomes an outlaw.

He has no choice but to track down the perpetrator himself. His determination is strengthened by the fact that he knows the dead man from the Karlín tramping group, the Blue Shadows, which also includes the beautiful Dženy, who has an almost supernatural influence on men. What’s more, another, equally brutal murder soon takes place, and Ota himself was meant to be the victim.

Why is the killer using a table leg? What role do the Blue Shadows play in this whole story? Is the fragile Dženy the direct cause of these cruel events? And isn't it all just a trap for Ota that was meant to be sprung?
