Shrek the Third - DVD

Shrek the Third - DVD
Under normal circumstances, after dealing with the wicked Fairy Godmother and her insufferable son, Prince Charming, in the second instalment of the animated comedy, the beautiful, young, and green couple Shrek and Fiona would live undisturbed and happily ever after. However, having become the stars of the most successful animated film of all time, they're not entitled to any peace and quiet. The adventures the creative screenwriters have dreamed up for them this time are even more outrageous than anything the two ogres have experienced before.
Judge for yourself: King Harold is on his last legs, so it's clear he must hand over the rule of the kingdom of Far Far Away to someone. It's even clearer that the successor to the throne should be the husband of his fairest daughter, Fiona. But Shrek resists the prospect of ruling so fiercely that he decides to persuade Fiona's teenage cousin, Artie, to wear the royal crown instead. First, though, he'll have to find him and make a man out of him. While Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots set off on a rather adventurous expedition, the newly-alone Fiona has entirely different worries. The recently jilted Prince Charming decides to take advantage of the absence of men in the kingdom, planning to seize power in Far Far Away by force with the help of fairytale villains. But Fiona is an ogress first and a princess second, so she stands up to Charming and his evil army. What's more, she's not alone; fighting alongside her on the front lines, besides Queen Lillian, is a seductive commando of princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and others), all determined to use their assets in the fight. In Shrek the Third, there's going to be plenty of fun, and we haven't even mentioned the Dronkeys, the adorable offspring of Donkey and Dragon, and a surprise that Fiona is keeping from everyone.
Shrek has always relied on revolutionary, flawless animation and an all-star voice cast. Both remain in this third instalment, which also boasts a particularly interesting new addition to the cast in the form of contemporary pop icon Justin Timberlake. The film is directed by Chris Miller, who wrote the screenplays for the previous two films, and Raman Hui, the animation supervisor for the first and second.
