Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods and Kings is the first expansion pack for Civilization V – the 2010 PC Game of the Year. This comprehensive expansion covers the period from the founding of the first pantheon of the gods and the spread of religion across the world to the deployment of spies in enemy cities to steal information and technology. As you journey through the ages, you will interact with new types of city-states, engage in new city-state quests and global competitions, and master exciting new systems for land and naval combat. Civilization V: Gods and Kings also features nine new civilizations, nine new wonders, three original scenarios, and dozens of new units, buildings, and technologies that will offer even more ways for players to expand their empire and dominate the world.

Key Features

• An Even More Epic Game: The core game has been significantly expanded. New units and buildings are now included in the four new scenarios, available for players to customise.
• New Civilizations: The expansion introduces 9 new civilizations, including Carthage, the Netherlands, the Celts, and the Maya, each with unique units and buildings. Of course, there are also 9 new leaders, including William I, Prince of Orange, Boudicca, and Pacal.
• Religion: The righteous seek Faith to found a Pantheon of the Gods. As your Faith grows, you can create a Great Prophet to found a religion that you can customise and enhance as you see fit.
• Enhanced Diplomacy and Espionage: Establish embassies at foreign courts for closer ties (or clandestine operations). As your religion spreads and the world enters the Renaissance, you unlock your first spy (with more to come).
• City-States: Two new city-state types have been added (Mercantile and Religious), which will grant you new advantages. The city-state quest system has been extensively revised, and the increased importance of gold adds a whole new range of quests, further extending the gameplay.
• World Domination: The fight for world domination is now more dynamic than ever. The Gods and Kings expansion features a reworked combat system and AI that place more emphasis on a balanced army composition.
• Naval Combat: Your navy is now split into two different ship types, melee and ranged. This means that no coastal city should feel safe, and all can fall victim to a surprise naval attack.
• New Wonders: There are also 9 new wonders with brand-new effects, including Neuschwanstein Castle, the Great Mosque of Djenne, the Terracotta Army, the Great Firewall, and the Hubble Space Telescope.
• Three New Scenarios: The Medieval period, the Fall of Rome, and Empires of the Smoky Skies.
