Simone Nina: Nina Simone At Town Hall Ltd Clr

LP Record The one-of-a-kind, twenty-six-year-old Simone made her debut at a concert in New York in 1959. Her childhood dream was to become a classical piano star, but racism forced her to play in bars. And so, as Simone recalled, when she finally made it to a prestigious concert hall, she "walked like an Egyptian queen – slowly, quietly, and solemnly," hardly able to believe there were finally no cigarettes to distract the customers and no out-of-tune piano.
