Sirens

Lucy is running away from what she has done – and from what someone has done to her.

Only one person can understand her: her sister, Jess. But when Lucy arrives at her deserted house on the cliff, there is no sign of her.

Lucy is left alone in a town full of rumours and strange stories – about men who mysteriously disappear, about a foundling from a cave that floods at high tide, and about women's voices whispering on the waves…

As soon as Lucy starts searching for Jess, the mysterious voices suddenly grow louder. They tell her of two sisters who were once deported in shackles across the globe to Australia. Of a world in which men always get their way. Of a world that is far away and yet frustratingly close. Are they trying to lure her closer to Jess? Or will both sisters succumb to the secrets of the past and the alluring power of the sea?
