Sisters

Psychological Novel Following a painful divorce, Robert goes on holiday to a remote seaside island to recuperate and get some work done. However, he is constantly distracted by the presence of Lila and Marie, two sisters he meets there. How pleasant, exciting, stimulating, yet at the same time a little scary and painful it is to be with them. But which one of them is it? While Lila is beautiful, spontaneous and easily manipulates people, Marie is quiet, introverted and shy. But both are hiding something and their relationship is burdened by a secret… Robert is a university lecturer and during his stay on the island, where there is almost no signal, he wants to write an essay about what happens when a person stops cowardly lying to themselves, summons the courage and finds the truth about themselves. What it's like to “be yourself”. But his writing is interrupted by the presence of Lila and Marie. Although Lila and Marie are sisters, they couldn't be more different. Lila likes to take risks. It is as if adrenaline is the oxygen she needs to live. And for her action-packed games, she seeks allies. Next to her, Marie appears seemingly bland, quiet, and even shy. However, she too attracts Robert in some way. Furthermore, it turns out that the sisters are dependent on each other in a peculiar way. It seems they are hiding something, that their relationship has been marked by some trauma. Will Robert figure them out? What will he learn about their lives and relationships? And will he finally find the truth about himself? Martin Uhlíř The author of the book is a journalist.
