Škwor: Hledání Identity

Škwor's new album arrives at a time when the Prague rock quartet is becoming a key player on the domestic rock scene, thanks to their last studio album 'Sliby & Lži' (Promises & Lies), last year's live recording '15 let - Praha Incheba Arena', and, above all, a series of sold-out concerts.

This is further evidenced by the pilot single 'Kolikrát...' (How Many Times...), which heralds the release of the new album titled 'Hledání IDentity' (Searching for IDentity) and is accompanied by an atmospheric black and white music video.

"The album's title somehow emerged from my current state of mind, and all of that is logically reflected in most of the lyrics. I think I can speak for the guys when I say that we are, in fact, searching, we never stopped, and we will keep searching 'til death do us part," says Škwor's frontman Petr Hrdlička, commenting on the name of what is their eighth studio album.

'The first single gives a good indication of the album's mood. It follows the band's well-established and time-tested musical model, which has given Škwor a clearly defined musical trademark. A solid rock foundation with a clear melodic line, but with a completely contemporary sound.

The new album was once again self-produced by the band, with significant sound supervision from producer and guitarist Leo Holan. It features classic Škwor 'bangers' like the single 'Kolikrát...', the title track 'Hledání IDentity', the ironic 'Zprávy' (News), which offers a detached commentary on the contemporary media world, as well as 'Jeden svět nestačí' (One World Is Not Enough) and others.

On the other hand, fans won't miss out on ballads like 'Milionu hvězd se ptáš' (You Ask a Million Stars), 'Máme tu problém' (We Have a Problem Here), or 'Jizvy na duších' (Scars on Souls), which is sure to be one of the album's biggest hits and will follow up on the band's last big hit, 'Síla starejch vín' (The Strength of Old Wines).

'The popular powerhouse will, of course, also present the single and other new songs live during the autumn 'Hledání IDentity Tour'!
