Slawitschek: The Prague Adventurer

Immerse yourself in a labyrinth where Prague becomes a stage for the most mysterious dreams and terrifying realities! Forget everything you think you know about fantasy historical novels. Rudolf Slawitschek: Prague Adventurer is not just an audiobook, it is a portal to a world where the boundaries between reality and fantasy disappear. Imagine a baroque novel that, with its mystical depth and grotesque imagination, can bear comparison with Meyrink's legendary Golem. Meet Hanus Adam Löwenmacht, a 17th-century knight whose destiny is determined by something beyond ordinary understanding. "Everything, what he'll experience, it seems, coming from another, of a mysterious world." and these words, like a cabalistic key, open the door to the story, which is itself a mystical connection with the tragic fate of the author himself. The audiobook combines the genius of the author with the mastery of the actor-performer Aleš Procházka as the narrator to create a work that transcends time and becomes a legend. Hanuš Adam, with the help of occult doctor Dr. Cardano and his magic mirror embark on a journey to another world. But what happens when, on his return, a piece of his body - his entire leg - is tragically lost in the mirror? This is just the beginning of a crazy, brilliant ride! Get ready for: - A breathtaking fusion of worlds: Watch how real history (the mayor Matthias Macht of the Löwenmacht, the plague doctor Rochus of the Redlichs) intertwines with demons, witches, sylphs and monsters. What is the way when there is something wrong with your own "outer world"? - A grotesque imagination of Ariosto and Rabelaisian proportions: From the mad baron who feeds people with bird's milk and makes them hoot, to the one-legged rhythmist with whom Löwenmacht merges into one grotesque being, the "Prince of Leandria", who performs at fairs. One bizarre and ingenious story follows another! - Unrepeatable mystical tension: Experience the intense uncertainty and ambivalence that follows you to the very end. Are you sure you're back from the other world? Or are you doomed to never step out of the world behind the mirror again, surrounded only by your doppelgangers? - A literary gem awarded the Prague City Prize (1940): Discover the masterpiece of the Prague German writer Rudolf Slawitschek, which is seen as a unique contribution to the European Baroque novel. Rudolf Slawitschek: The Prague Adventurer is more than just an audiobook - it is a cultural event, a gateway to a forgotten masterpiece that is more relevant today than ever. If you're a lover of literature that isn't afraid to break genre boundaries and leave a strong, lasting impression, then this audiobook is a must for you.
