Small memory

A Small Memory is a memoir, written in a jet during the first coronavirus quarantine, composed on the fly, comically recalling the events and personalities that led Beyamin Kuras to writing as a lifelong craft. < br> < br> In the book, you experience the comedy of Czech communism with the author, emigrate to London, broadcast in the Czech BBC, enjoy the recessive humour of your Hungarian colleagues, and embark on writing plays in English, following the personal advice of the Anglo-Hungarian humorist George Mikes. You get to know English theatre from the inside, travel with it around Europe and Israel and meet inspiring personalities everywhere. And you follow his reluctant entry into post-communist Czechia and Czech writing, perceived not as a return home but as a new gradual emigration to an unknown land.
