Smiles of Sad Men - DVD

Smiles of Sad Men tells the stories of successful men who, through the bottom of a bottle, have hit rock bottom. A bottom from which the only way is up.

On the warpath with booze, Josef meets Honza, a former national triathlon team member and competitor in the world's toughest race – the Ironman. Then there’s Milan, a civil servant and mathematical genius who believes he is an emissary from outer space. One was betrayed by his wife, another starred in German gay porn, and Tomáš has his own story, having gone too far in his relationship with his stepdaughter. They all drank heavily for different reasons, some alone at home, others as the life of the party at the pub.
Under the watchful eye of a strict head doctor and a rigid regime, they now learn together how easy it was to fall for the intoxicating allure of alcohol and, in contrast, how difficult the journey out of addiction is. But there is no way out of addiction; the only chance is to replace alcohol with something else. How about running a marathon?
