So far, so close
Thirtysomething Tereza writes her diary in Spain, while her mother, Hana, records her thoughts in Prague. They are separated by half of Europe and a great deal of unspoken words. Did their paths diverge so that they might one day understand each other and be close again? Neither marrying a foreigner nor motherhood fulfils Tereza's dream of a new life. Now she will never know if she would have been happier had she not followed her love to Spain. Perhaps all she had to do was to correctly understand the man who claimed he would one day hate her as much as he loved her. But shattered relationships cannot be pieced back together like the mosaics that decorate Barcelona. Besides family and partner bonds, the book also deals with Tereza's contact with other traditions, different customs, and the lifestyle in southern Europe. This story about searching for a new home is told from the perspectives of the daughter and her mother. It is inspired by real events.
