The concept of the textbook is based on a thorough evaluation of available high school textbooks on somatology and Latin and on the author' s own experience with teaching these subjects in the fields of study Practical Nurse and Medical Lyceum. The textbook aims to provide knowledge about the structure and function of the human body. It is therefore suitable as a basic textbook for a range of students in secondary medical school fields of study, i. e. the fields of Nursing, Practical nurse, Medical Lyceum, Nutritional assistant, Laboratory assistant, Dental technician assistant, Masseur in healthcare, Sports and reconditioning masseur, Orthotic-prosthetic technician. However, it can also be useful in medical schools for students of social sciences and students of related non-medical health fields. The chapters are made up of individual organ systems of the human body, which are supplemented at the end with an overview of Latin (or Greek) anatomical terms and connections, knowledge of which is an integral part of studying medical fields. In order to increase the attractiveness of the curriculum, interesting facts are also presented for individual systems and organs.
