Song of Songs

The Old Testament Song of Songs is also called the Song of Songs, or the Song of Solomon - the author of this collection of love lyrics is traditionally considered to be King Solomon.which is said to have been inspired by much older ancient Egyptian love poetry. The lyrics of Jewish wedding songs have been passed down by oral tradition in the Middle East since ancient times, and the Song of Songs itself is still one of the five holiday scrolls read on Jewish holidays. However, the common people also sang it in taverns, in the fields during harvest festivals and in the vineyards during the wine harvest.

A beautiful love story, highly erotic, but also a very symbolic and allegorical story about the mystery of love, its birth, pitfalls, maturing, courage, intoxication, offensiveness, Compliance, of unsaleability and grandeur, enhanced by the unsurpassed poetry of Jaroslav Seifert speaks to the receptive hearts of today's readers with the same splendour and mystery as it has for hundreds of years.
